Star Award
IREM believes in the power of chapters to provide valuable member services and programs. IREM also believes in the value of recognition for chapter accomplishments. The Chapter Star Program recognizes all chapters based on an objective set of criteria.
The Chapter Star Workbook reflects the characteristics of a successful, effective chapter – and therefore serves as a guide for chapter leadership to provide value to members. The characteristics fall into three core elements:
1. Sustainable leadership
2. Supportive administrative structure
3. Enthusiastic member involvement and worthwhile member services
Within each of the three core elements, there are minimum requirements and electives – these are the objective criteria on which chapters can be evaluated. The minimum requirements, categories A - J, reflect a minimal level of activity that chapters must do. The electives, categories K - LL, reflect a myriad of programs and activities that chapters can do - and every chapter will be different in its electives.
A point system is used to determine the ranking of each chapter as Five Star, Four Star, Three Star, Two Star or One Star with variations based on three size categories. A total of 1135 points are available in the minimum requirement categories; a total of 1276+ points are available in the elective categories.
5 Star: Real Estate Institute of Manitoba
